Buh-Bye Google+

I hear Google+ is shutting down?  I can't say I'm particularly sad, it killed the blog scene pretty thoroughly, which had a lot more and better-focused content.  I'm also way more partial to forums.

It does raise the question, though - do people still read blogs?  WHO READS THIS BLOG?  Probably very few people after the scant attention I've given it the past few years!

Campaign is starting up again though, but it's very hard to schedule weekend games during football season.  Should be getting together again in December.  That means more Mongos, and a better chance of seeing ASE4-5 sometime this century, because I only feel motivated to write when I have to.

  1. Yes! Blogs! Please! Never a fan of G+ and I'm a big believer in blogs and forums. I've been very disappointed with how sad the Labyrinth Lord forums have become, so hopefully the end of G+ might lead to something there? Maybe?

Very pleased to hear about the campaign!

  2. I'll be very excited to keep reading about your campaign the next time you're able to get a game together. This blog is a treasure. ASE is wonderful in its own right - but to have a document of all your designing and playtesting to accompany it is something rare indeed.

    1. Well thank you!

The session reports are super important functionally, because otherwise I forget what happened from game to game...

  7. Started a new blog of my own last year, as have several other OSR stalwarts! And we're still reading you too, Patrick---and folks still ask about ASE at GaryCon and NTX each year, too! :D

  9. Yours and Gus's are my favorite OSR/campaign report blogs. Glad to see you back, and still hoping Gus reconsiders his departure/sabbatical.

  10. Still reading blogs. As G+ was the only social network I used... in a few months I'll use no social network. Back to reading blogs and some forums.

    1. Exactly! Also, he once teased some info about level 7 or 8—I don't remember exactly—which will apparently house an AI computer. I have been waiting for that with bated breath for years now. Obviously.

    1. My blogspot blog is just basically a roll of about 130 blogs of so. I'm not being snotty and just putting my little mess up there. :) I never figured out these feed things.

  15. I've enjoyed G+ but prefer to read blogs. Hopefully mine will see more traffic again as well when G+ does go quiet (and I start posting again).
