Denethix Map in CC2, completed

What a total pain in the neck.  Making this map took endless hours.  There's 2000 little buildings, and while I could lay them down in tracks, there are bugs in this 10 year old version, and it tended to get a little crashy.  I haven't been posting as much because I've been stuck on this city map project forever.  It's done now, and I can finally move onto something a bit more interesting.

The printed version is so much nicer than this JPEG export, too.  Anyhow click to make larger.

  1. This map is beautiful, definitely worth your pain. Anyway, which direction is the dungeon? Or am I missing something? Can't wait for other maps, you're really good at map making!

  2. Thanks guys. I'm not 100% sure where anything is in relation to the city, I've been hand-waving the wilderness travel. It's on a giant mountain somewhere. The next map I have to make is the wilderness around Denethix and the mountain. I seem to recall mentioning the mountain being off to the west somewhere, I'll have to review the session logs and see if that's true.

Looking at the map again in the morning, I see I didn't make the big mansions on the south side of the Street of Upright Living fancy yet, they're still simple stand-in houses and look fairly blocky. I'll have to get back to that and clean them up.

Also, The Inn of Alabaster Surprise might be too big. It's the same size as the Grand Temple.

  3. That is one great looking map. What program did you use to make it? Or is it hand drawn?

  5. What is the scale? Does each square represent a certain distance?

  6. Right now 250', although I'm thinking it might be cooler at 500'.

  7. You are a glutton for punishment, that's for sure! What a fantastic map!
I would love to find the floorplan of the Tower of Farentha, or better, a dungeon set inside the building. Any ideas?

    1. Thanks! I have no floor plans - everything I ever do is as-needed, and the players haven't shown an interest in going into the Tower yet
